Hi, I'm Philip.
I write science fiction and fantasy, with a focus on the Darkholm setting of my own creation and its surrounding lore. Aside from that, I also do some front-end web development; everything you see on this website was coded entirely by me, no plugins or libraries used at all. (that's probably why it doesn't look as professional as a template or otherwise). Thanks for dropping by!
Here, you can see all of the latest updates to what I've been up to, from weekly blog posts and novel updates to the occasional short story or novella. You'll probably also see the website design change over time as well, whenever I get the time and energy to do all of the behind-the-scenes stuff to make everything look better.
Oh, and one day, this website might change overnight to something more professional. If that happens, it probably means that I've been published, so maybe consider buying my book.
Beta Note: If you can read this beta note, it probably means that you're one of the few people I trust with this website in this messy state. In that case, thanks for being a good friend! I'm working on a way to centralise a lot of the updates to what I've been up to that people are interested in, but not important enough to warrant time in an actual conversation, and this is that way. If you're ever curious what I've been up to, maybe check this website, keep it bookmarked or something. I'll try my best to keep you entertained In anticipation of a public release!
Oh, and of course, feel free to message me through any of the usual means regarding anything. I personally like to consider this my equivalent of posting instagram stories or the like, if that's a helpful way to look at things. Because you know, as a writer, I can't fit everything I want to talk about in an instagram story. And also because I don't use instagram.

Legal/Terms of Use
"Hey, I love your ideas! Can I use your content for something I'm doing?"
First of all, I'm flattered! But given that I hope one day to sell my work, and that I have future copyrights and trademarks to protect the integrity of my creativity. In general, I'm happy for you to use anything I've written as the basis of anything you want, for as long as you're not making any money off it. And for specific inquiries, contact me with one of the options above.
Legal Note: This does not constitute a contract, but instead should serve only as guidelines. I reserve all rights to my work. Please contact me before any commercial use of my work.
If you want to use my work for non-commercial use, such as fanart to post between friends or to a social media site, you can feel free. I have no objection to that (though, it'd be nice if you left some credit). As an extension to that, you may incorporate my work into any private tabletop roleplaying games as well!
You may use my work as part of your professional portfolio, as long as they are not copies (or substantial copies) of my copyrighted work. For example, you can create fanart of my characters as part of a professional portfolio, but cannot use an official piece of artwork for the same.
You may use my work for one-off commissions, as long as they are not copies (or substantial copies) of my copyrighted work. You may also use my work for physical prints, stickers, or playmats with the same restriction.
You may NOT use my work to train AI models, and you may NOT use AI assisted content of my work for commercial uses.
You may NOT use any textual, visual, or audio elements in your work to suggest that it was endorsed by me or "official" by me. In other words, make it clear that your work is not affiliated with me in any way.
You may NOT use my work for commercial fanfiction; you cannot make money from your fan fiction in any way. You may use my work for fanfiction for non-commercial uses, however you waive all rights to your work if you do so. In other words, you can't write fanfiction of my work, then sue me for copying your work; this clause exists to make sure I'm not the one getting sued, not the other way around.
Anything that does not fit the above uses should be assumed to not be allowed for commercial use.
Note: If you are a publisher, publishing agent, or publishing agency who wants to buy my manuscript, please contact me at darkholmproject@gmail.com.
Will any of this above become relevant? Who knows.
